Basofil^® fiber has been utilized by the aerospace industry for more than a decade in fire blocking fabrics for seating.  Many commercial planes flown today depend on Basofil fiber based fabrics to help ensure the fire safety of the aircraft.

The Basofil fiber fabrics meet the stringent FAA oil burner test and the vertical flame test, and are also are far below the limits set by Boeing Aircraft for smoke toxicity (ASTM E662-79/BSS 7239 method).
